Payer enrollments Updated July 28, 2026

What do the enrollment statuses mean?

Every row on the Payer enrollments page wears a badge. That word tells you where the request stands, and what, if anything, is yours to do.

  • Draft. You started the request and it has not left your office. Nothing has been sent.
  • Submitted. The request has left your hands and is travelling. Nothing to do but wait.
  • Needs something from you. The payer is waiting on you. This is amber, and it means there are tasks on the enrollment page. See The payer is asking for more. What are enrollment tasks?.
  • Submit failed. It came back before reaching the payer, and it needs you. The reason is shown in plain sight. Fix what it flagged and try again.
  • Approved and active. The row turns green. That door is open, and it stays open. You can send to this payer again and again.

The journey is always the same road: draft, submitted, sometimes tasks, then approved and live.

Before you send anything, look at the card that says what will be sent: the provider’s name, their NPI, and their tax ID. You can always read what leaves your office before it leaves.

A setback here is a detour, not a dead end. A rejected request always shows its reason.
