What can the assistant do, and does it ever act on its own?

The assistant is built into every page, on the right. It already knows billing, and it knows your data.

It does four things well:

  • It reads the page you are on. Open a claim and ask for a summary, and it answers from that exact claim: who the patient is, what was billed, and where the money stands.
  • It looks things up. Balances, denial reasons, which practices you bill for, what a schedule is set to do.
  • It teaches. Ask it to explain any word, code or number and it answers in plain English. If you forget a term from a lesson, just ask.
  • It proposes work. It can draft a claim or a patient record from one sentence, and hand it to you to approve.

Now the promise, and it is the important part. Some things cost money, or contact the insurance company. The assistant never does those on its own. It shows you its plan, it shows you the price, it says plainly that it will contact the payer, and it waits for your yes. Every single time.

That is true of eligibility checks, coverage discovery, claim status lookups and claim submission alike. Nothing leaves your office without a person agreeing to it.

Everything it does is on the record. See What has the assistant been doing, and what did it cost?.
